Bossier Parish Fire District #1 is located in East-Central Bossier Parish and protects 160 square miles. The fire department was formed in 1978 as East 80 Fire Department and in 1989 the Bossier Parish Police Jury formed East-Central Bossier Parish Fire District #1. The new fire district absorbed East 80 Fire Department. In 1990 the district became a Fire Protection Class 4 and in 2007 the rating improved to a CLASS 3.The District is a combination department comprised of mainly dedicated volunteers.
Bossier Parish Fire District #1 is under the leadership of Fire Chief Grady Lee Jr. The department delivers Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support first response with 13 National Registered Paramedics, numerous Emergency Medical Technicians and Louisiana State First Responders.
The Fire District operates 6 fire stations with each station equipped with an engine and service truck. The district also contracts fire protection for the State of Louisiana at Camp Minden. |
