Community Fire Prevention Programs

Bossier Parish Fire District 1 offers a wide range of Fire and Life Safety Programs that can be delivered at either at our Central Station on Highway 80 or at community venues throughout our response area.

These venues can include church and senior citizen groups, homeowner associations and community functions and events.

In addition to our school-based programs, we also offer fire and life safety programs to the Homeschoolers in our community. These can include a single-visit, or multiple visits that can deliver a series of lessons tailored to the needs of the group and can be scheduled for anytime during the year.

In addition, we also offer station tours and educational programs to groups such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts

We offer several 20-40 minute presentations targeted at residential fire safety issues including Home Fire Safety, Smoke Detectors, Carbon Monoxide, Kitchen Fire Safety, Home Fire Extinguishers, Wildfire Mitigation, Pool & Water Safety, and Juvenile Firesetting Prevention. For a complete list of what we can offer your group, please feel free to contact us. In addition, specific presentations can be developed to meet your specialized fire and life safety needs.

We also offer a Senior Safety Program, which discusses not only kitchen fire safety and fall prevention, but also talks about several programs for the senior population available through Bossier Parish Emergency Medical Services Injury Prevention Program.

In addition, we periodically offer a 12-Hour Family & Community Emergency Response Training Program, which is designed to teach citizens how to handle basic emergencies until the arrival of trained responders. This program, which has been modeled after the successful Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs trains citizens on home disaster planning and  preparedness,  how to the assessment and size-up of the damage left by tornados and severe storms, fire extinguisher operations and fire control, basic first aid, basic search and rescue and the management of incidents such as motor vehicle accidents and backcountry emergencies.

If your church, business or homeowners association is interested in this class, or any other presenation, please contact us.
